iMessage on your desktop, inside Franz
Use iMessage, SMS and RCS in Franz on your Mac, right next to WhatsApp, Slack and your mail, with one search across all of them.
- macOS
Your texts live in the Messages app, your work lives somewhere else, and every reply means one more window to dig out. Franz puts iMessage in your sidebar next to WhatsApp, Slack, Gmail and everything else you use, so a text from your sister and a ping from a client land in the same place. You see the unread badge, you get the notification, you answer, and you're back where you were.
iMessage, SMS and RCS side by side
Franz shows your iMessage, SMS and RCS conversations in one list, groups included, with the names and photos from your Contacts. You can send texts, photos, files and voice recordings, forward a message or start a new chat right from Franz. SMS and RCS show up the same way they reach the Messages app: through your iPhone, forwarded to your Mac. If Messages on your Mac already has your texts, Franz has them too.
Search lands on the message
Somebody sent you the address three weeks ago and now you need it in the next ten minutes. Press Cmd+K and Franz searches your whole message history, then opens the hit right at that message instead of at the top of a long thread. The Magic Bar (Cmd+J) searches iMessage together with your mail, Signal and WhatsApp, and Ask Franz reads your chats too, so "what did Lena say about Thursday?" gets an actual answer.
Set up once, on your Mac
There's no QR code to scan and no extra account to create. Franz reads your messages on your Mac, and macOS asks you once for what Franz needs: to read your messages, to show names and photos and to send. After that you're set. iMessage in Franz runs on macOS, in the version you download from meetfranz.com. The Mac App Store version doesn't include it, and on Windows and Linux Franz runs all your other services.

Frequently asked questions
Which platforms does iMessage work on in Franz?
iMessage runs in Franz on macOS. On Windows and Linux, Franz runs every other service you add, just not iMessage. iMessage is in the Franz you download from meetfranz.com. The Mac App Store version doesn't include it.
Can I use multiple iMessage accounts at once?
Franz uses the iMessage account your Mac is signed in to, so it's one per computer. Every other service next to it can still have as many accounts as you need.
Is iMessage in Franz free?
Franz is free to use with iMessage and every other service. A free account covers the essentials and takes minutes to set up; paid plans add extra features, but running iMessage in Franz costs nothing to start.
