Workspaces

Move services between workspaces

Move a Franz service into another workspace, share it across workspaces, or remove it from a workspace without deleting the service itself safely.

Back to Support

A service belongs to a workspace through its tab membership. Moving a service usually means changing which workspaces show that tab, not deleting the service and starting over.

Open Settings -> Services, choose the service, and find the Workspaces section. Turn on the workspace where the service should appear. Turn off a workspace when the service should no longer be shown there. Save the service settings when you are done.

You can also edit a workspace directly from Settings -> Workspaces. Open the workspace, review the service tabs listed there, and select the tabs that should be visible in that workspace. This is useful when you are building a new workspace and want to add several existing services at once.

Do not delete the service unless you want to remove the account from Franz. Deleting a service removes that service entry and its local configuration from Franz; changing workspace membership only changes where the existing service appears. Franz also keeps a safety rule that a service tab must belong to at least one workspace, so remove it from the old workspace only after it is available in the new one.

Some providers may ask you to sign in again after major changes, especially if you recreated the service instead of moving the existing tab. That sign-in state is controlled by the provider inside its web session.
