Clear cache and reload a service
Use reload and cache clearing when a service looks stale after an update, so Franz refreshes the service UI without reinstalling the desktop app.
Back to SupportAfter an app update or a service-side change, a service can still show an old screen, a broken login page, or missing buttons. Reloading the service is the first fix; clearing the service cache is the next step when reload alone is not enough.
Refresh a stale service
- Select the affected service in Franz and use the service reload action. Wait for the page to finish loading before clicking around.
- If the same stale screen returns, clear the service cache from the service settings or troubleshooting action for that service.
- Reload the service again. A cache clear usually forces the embedded web app to fetch current files from the provider.
- Quit and reopen Franz if several services look stale after an update. This resets app-level browser state without changing your Franz account.
- Sign in to the service again if the provider requires it after cache clearing.
Use cache clearing for stale user interfaces, broken web assets, or login pages that keep looping after an update. It is not the same as deleting Franz data: your Franz account and workspace setup should remain intact, although the affected service may ask for a fresh login.
