Connect Franz from a managed corporate network
Enable corporate network compatibility in Franz to fix services that fail to load with timeout, connection-reset, or server-not-found errors at work.
Back to SupportOn a corporate, school, or other managed network, Franz services sometimes fail to load even though the same sites work in your regular web browser. You may see a Server Not Found, Connection Failed, or timeout screen for WhatsApp, Gmail, Slack, or any other service.
This happens because Franz uses the same underlying engine as a modern web browser, and managed networks often filter or rewrite traffic in ways that newer browser defaults are not always compatible with. The fix is built into Franz — you just need to turn it on.
Turn on corporate network compatibility
- Open Franz and go to Settings → General.
- Scroll to the Network section at the very bottom of the page.
- Switch Corporate network compatibility on.
- Restart Franz when prompted. The setting only takes effect after a fresh start.
- Reload your services. The ones that were failing should now load normally.
You can leave the setting on permanently. It does not change anything that you would notice on a home or mobile network, so there is no need to switch it off again when you leave the office.
When this does not help
If services still fail after enabling the setting, ask your network or IT team whether the network requires sign-in to a proxy server, or whether internal sign-on is needed to reach the internet. Those cases need a separate Franz launch option — see Use Kerberos or Windows-Integrated authentication.
