Fix an expired Microsoft Teams session
Fix Microsoft Teams session expired messages in Franz by reloading, signing in again, and recognizing when organization policy controls session length.
Back to SupportMicrosoft Teams sessions can expire when Microsoft or your organization requires a fresh sign-in. If Teams shows a session expired message in Franz, reload the Teams service first. In many cases Microsoft refreshes the session and returns you to Teams automatically.
If the message remains, sign in again with your Microsoft work or school account. Complete any organization prompts, including multi-factor authentication, device compliance checks, or account selection screens. Keep the Teams service open until the redirect has fully returned to Teams.
Some companies set short session lifetimes for Teams and Microsoft 365. Franz cannot extend those policies. If your organization requires re-authentication every day or after a period of inactivity, Teams will ask for sign-in again even when Franz is working normally.
Avoid clearing cache or removing the Teams service unless the sign-in page is stuck in a loop after reload and re-authentication. Clearing data signs the service out completely, so use it only when the normal refresh path does not recover the session.
