Pro vs Pro Cloud

Franz Pro has two paid options. Both unlock unlimited services and unlimited workspaces, the email intelligence panel, and the rest of the Pro feature set. They differ in how AI inference is delivered. The current pricing for both options lives on the plan selection page.

Pro

Connect any model — OpenAI, Anthropic, Ollama, local, self-hosted. Franz acts as a thin client to the provider you configure. The request goes from your machine to your account at OpenAI, Anthropic, Ollama, a local model, or a self-hosted endpoint. You bring the model and pay your provider directly.

When to choose Pro

• You already have an OpenAI or Anthropic account and want Franz to use that key.
• You want full control over which provider, model, and account handles each request.
• You prefer local-first inference with Ollama, LM Studio, or another self-hosted setup.
• You want AI usage to follow your provider's billing and limits, not Franz's.

Pro Cloud

Franz runs the AI for you. Pro Cloud includes 5M tokens per month of managed inference, served from EU infrastructure with zero retention. There is no key to set up, no model to download, and no separate provider account to manage.

When to choose Pro Cloud

• You want zero-setup AI that works the moment you sign in.
• You want server-class speed without running a model on your laptop.
• You want one bill that covers Franz and the AI behind it.
• You want managed inference in the EU without standing up your own infrastructure.

Pricing

Pro is €5.99/mo. Pro Cloud is €9.99/mo. Both have annual options that lower the per-month price. The current numbers, including any annual savings, render on the plan selection page.

Switching tiers

You can review or change your plan from the billing page in your Franz profile. The billing screen shows renewal timing and any prorated changes before you confirm.
