Team seats and owner permissions

Franz teams are managed by an owner account. The owner controls billing, seats, invitations, and member removal from the team management page so one person has a clear view of subscription changes.

What counts as a seat

A seat can be used by an active team member or reserved by a pending invite. When the owner invites someone from team management and the subscription needs another seat, Franz shows the seat change before the invite is sent. The owner must confirm that change before the team grows.

Pending invites can be revoked by the owner. If an invite is removed before it is accepted, the team page updates the pending seat state. If a member is removed, the team page shows how the subscription will handle that seat for the current billing period.

Owner-only actions

The owner can invite members, revoke pending invites, remove members, and manage billing. Team members can leave the team from their own account when that action is available, but they cannot change team billing or remove other members.

Trial accounts and teams

Team management requires a paid plan. If your account is on a Franz device trial, the profile team page shows the upgrade path. Once you upgrade, you can invite teammates from there and Franz handles the seat change for you.
