Sign in to Franz 5 after using Franz 6

If you signed in to Franz 6 and now want to use Franz 5 again, Franz 5 may no longer accept your password. Your account is fine. You only need to set a fresh password once.

Franz 6 stores passwords in a newer, more secure format. The first time you sign in to Franz 6, your stored password is automatically upgraded to that new format. Franz 5 does not recognise the new format and therefore can no longer verify your login.

Reset your password through the Franz 5 password recovery page at v5.meetfranz.com/retrieve-password. Enter the email address for your Franz account, open the reset email we send you, and choose a new password. You will then be able to sign back in to Franz 5.

If you return to Franz 6 afterwards, the password is upgraded again the next time you sign in there, and your Franz 5 login stops working until you reset it once more. When you switch back and forth between the two versions you will need to reset the password each time you return to Franz 5, so we recommend picking one version and staying with it.

When the reset email does not arrive within a few minutes, check your spam, junk, and promotions folders. Older reset requests can also overwrite a newer link, so request the reset once and use the most recent email you receive.
